Pawn in the American Game

Oil Painting

This painting draws from a childhood dream in which I was trapped in a backyard playset, surrounded by chaos and danger—a feeling I reinterpret here as being a pawn in a political chess game. The confined figure, watched by an ominous eye, reflects my sense of powerlessness within turbulent systems of government and society. The work explores themes of control, chaos, and the tension between beauty and destruction in our current political climate.
