This work explores the cultural need to look beyond ourselves. While books and personal experiences offer knowledge, true understanding and empathy come from engaging with others to listen to their stories, learn about different cultures, and share in collective community spaces. One way of looking beyond ourself includes going to a local festival and meeting new people in-person.
