Based on an X-ray of Ian’s chest, this screenprint symbolizes the courage to remain in existence and endure even through unthinkable hardship. Sharing these intimate medical procedures, including surgery to place two rods on his spine and the implantation of an ICD pacemaker, convey a vulnerability to see each other in our fullness. We persist together by supporting and leaning on one another in hard times. Community support and assistance has greatly uplifted and sustained Ian on his journey.
